Many thanks for entering this year's Open Handicap Tournament.
The fee for entering is £3 and everyone will be guaranteed at least two games. The format is best of three games, first to 15, american scoring.
Unless a handicap is positive, the lowest handicap will be increased to zero and the highest handicap reduced by the same amount. For example, if -50 plays -15, then games will start at -35 and 0.
The draw and details of the order of play are attached. If you are unable to view this, a printed version will be displayed next to Court 2 from Wednesday 14th November or reply to this email and I will let you know when you are playing on Monday 19th. The handicaps for each player will be available on Monday 19th, but hopefully I will issue these sooner.
The busiest night will be on Wednesday 21st when we get the Plate competition up and running. There are ten byes in the main draw which makes the plate a bit tricky for the first round, and some people may find themselves having to play twice in the plate on Wednesday. There are 6 plate games scheduled to be played first on Wednesday, however it is likely that some of these will actually be byes once main draw results are known, so can all players be ready to play at least 30 mins earlier than indicated. This will all become much clearer once the main draw first and second round matches have been completed on Monday and Tuesday.
Please do arrive early for all your matches as it is always likely that matches will finish ahead of their scheduled slots.
If you have any questions please do let me know and I will endeavour to answer them as soon as possible.
